Armand Bourque Obituary

Armand Bourque, 89, passed into Heaven on Nov 6, while residing in Cumberland. Armand was the son of the late Edmond and Alice (LaRose) Bourque of Cumberland and spent most of his life in Cumberland.

Armand was a Korean War veteran who served in the Army. After the war, he worked as a steeplejack for several years and as a painter, painting submarines in Groton. Armand then worked at General Motors and retired there. After his retirement from GM, he worked part-time painting homes.

Armand was active with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed visiting them in Oklahoma. He also enjoyed visiting Newport, Galilee, Mystic, Plymouth, Cape Cod, and Martha’s Vineyard. His favorite food was from The Castle and Cumberland House of Pizza.

Remembering Armand with love and looking forward to seeing him in Heaven one day are his children: Jean Morrison and her husband Gene of Oklahoma, Donna Bourque of Cumberland and John Bourque and his wife Cindy of Oklahoma; along with their families, including 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and their families.

Armand is survived by his sisters Jeannette Andrews of Attleboro Falls, Massachusettes; and Mary-Jane Phaneuf of Milford, Massachusettes. Armand was preceded in death by his sisters, Rita Whalen of Cumberland and Laura Malboeuf of Lincoln.

His Services were private. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895 were in charge the arrangements.
