Barbara A. Delasanta

Woonsocket - Barbara A. (Fortin) Delasanta, 93, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 21, 2026 following a brief illness with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Armando C. Delasanta. 

Born in Mount Vernon, NY., she was the daughter of the late Marcel and Thelma (Reed) Fortin. 

Barbara worked for many years at CVS warehouse and later at McCarthy’s Department Store in Woonsocket, RI until she retired to help care for her grandchildren. She was a devoted 30‑year member of the St. Joseph’s Choir and a long‑time participant in the Memory Lanes bowling league at Walnut Hill Bowl. Barbara loved watching Sunday football, traveling and lunch with friends, spending time at the beach, and cooking for the people she loved. She was cherished by her children and deeply adored by her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children, Jeffrey Delasanta and his companion Samantha Dorian of North Smithfield, Jodi Mainville and her husband Paul of Narragansett, Jerilyn Smith and her husband William of Woonsocket, and Jill Gemma and her husband Edward of Smithfield, one brother, Frederick Fortin and his wife Claudette of Danielson, CT. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Lindsay-Rae Lebrun, Adam Lebrun, Ava Delasanta, and Lana Delasanta and four great-grandchildren, Leah Lebrun, Lucas Lebrun, Benjamin Lebrun, and William Lebrun. 

She was also the sister of the late Janet Leduke and Marcia Pierannunzi and mother-in-law of the late Roger Lebrun. 

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor her memory at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Road, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
