Beverly A. Russell

Woonsocket - Beverly A. (DiCesare) Russell 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of Robert J. Russell, Jr. of Woonsocket. Beverly and Robert celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past June 30th.

Born in Woonsocket, RI daughter of the late Leo and Rose (Santucci) DiCesare.

In 1956, Beverly was crowned the Mardi Gras Queen of Woonsocket.  She always had a passion for learning, and decided while raising her three young daughters and working full-time, she would return to school and earn an Associates Degree in Business.  There was nothing she could not accomplish once she set her mind to it.  For many years, she worked as an Administrator in the healthcare industry.  Once being blessed with grandchildren, she retired early to become a full-time Nonna.  Her eight grandchildren and great grandson were her reason for living.  She loved taking them shopping, watching them enjoy her pool, countless sleepovers, and creating so many special memories together.  Beverly also enjoyed creating beautiful, themed gift baskets which she donated to various charitable events. She was always stylishly dressed whether attending St. Anthonys Church, visiting family, or simply shopping around town.  She made a friend wherever she went, always interested in meeting new people.  In true Italian style, with a mappine slung over one shoulder, Nonna provided family and friends with amazing home cooked meals.  There was always room for “one more” and no one left the house empty handed.

In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by her three loving daughters, Robin, Kelly, and Mindy along with sons-in-law Mike, Joe, and Stephen.  One sister, Gloria Nadeau and her husband Ed. One brother, Joseph. She adored her eight grandchildren, Chelsea, Jake, Meredith, John, Lorenza, Claire, Kate, and Grace. She considered herself to be blessed to know her one great grandchild, Nick.

A private Committal Service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations in Beverly’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, stjude.org in her memory would be appreciated.
