Woonsocket - Candy Joyce Seldon, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2022 in Hope Health Hospice Care in Providence with her loving family by her side.
She was born on February 15th, 1954 in Munich, Germany, and was the daughter of the late Luther L. and Alice A. (Mclaminy) Seldon.
Candy held a diverse set of professions and interests throughout her life. She once worked as a Correctional Officer in Long Island, NY, and a Massage Therapist for Helping Hands, while her love for jewelry making led her to become a jewelry teacher for the WBAV youth in her prior years.
Moreover, not only was Candy extremely well read, but she was also an Historian, loved to travel, and loved her cats; Player-Player and Poop. Not to mention, she was a vital member of her community.
Candy served as a Senior Volunteer at AmeriCorps and on various Boards, including the Woonsocket Board of directors, working to improve and enrich the quality of life for the entire city. She was also part of the Community Care Alliance and a Voting Poster.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Alyca Seldon of Woonsocket, RI; her daughter’s father, Isaac Robinson of NY; Step-daughter, Jolisa Robinson of NY; Two step-sons, Mantique Robinson of NC and Isaac Robinson Jr. of CT; One Aunt, Edith Williams of NY; Two sisters, Priscilla Robinson of NJ and Brenda De Stephano of NY; Three brothers, Robert Robinson of FL, Roosevelt Robinson of NY and Edward Davis of NY, as well as a host of cousins from all over.
She was predeceased by her brother, Warren L. Seldon.
Her funeral services are private. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home at 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895 is in charge of the arrangements.
