Woonsocket - Charles T. Dexter 89, husband of Marguerite “Dolly” Dexter, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2022. Charles and Dolly were married for 66 years.
Born in Pawtucket, son of the late Charles H. and Isabelle (Blakely) Dexter.
He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War. He was a Staff Sergeant in the ACW Squadron. He also spent a year in Tripoli. He spent 4 years in the Air Force and 10 years in the RI Air National Guard.
Charles worked as a Foreman for J.C. Hall Company for 30 years and CVS Warehouse for 15 years retiring in 2001. He was a lifetime member of the Cercle Laurier, the Italian Workingmen’s Club, and the 102nd Communication Association.
He was an avid the Pittsburg Steelers and Red Sox fan. He loved the time he spent talking to his granddaughter Grace about history, science, and other subjects. Charlie loved his family very much and will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Karen Dubois and her husband Robert of Woonsocket, Gayle Bibeault and her husband Charles of Woonsocket. Two sons, Eric Dexter and his wife Michelle of Lincoln and Thomas Dexter and his wife Denise of Tewksbury, MA. Nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
He also was the grandfather of the late Clifton Dubois.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 11AM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd., Woonsocket, RI 02895. Burial with Military Honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland RI. Relatives and friends are invited: calling hours will be on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 5-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Epilepsy Foundation of New England 650 Suffolk St. Unit 405 Lowell, Mass 08150 in his memory would be appreciated.
