Christine "Chris" Ann Gramolini

North Smithfield - Christine “Chris” Ann (Dubois) Gramolini, 74, was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on August 30, 1951, and passed away at Landmark Medical Center on June 25, 2026. 

Christine was a devoted wife, sharing 53 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Rodney C. Gramolini, and a loving mother to her son, Jeffrey, and daughter, Julie. She took great joy in caring for those she loved, always making sure everyone had everything they needed. If Christine could have chosen anywhere in the world to spend her happiest moments, it would have been on the back porch of the beautiful home she and Rodney built together atop Woonsocket Hill Road. There, rocking in her chair beside her husband on a sunny day while taking in the breathtaking view, she found her greatest sense of peace. 

An avid reader, Christine rarely went a week without finishing a book. She found joy in reading throughout her life and always looked forward to selecting her next read from the stack waiting on her bookshelf. She also loved cooking, often spending hours in the kitchen preparing several dishes at once. Christine enjoyed traveling as well, especially relaxing poolside with Rodney at a beach resort, reading a good book and sipping a cool beverage. 

Her most treasured moments were when the entire family gathered together, filling the house with laughter—sometimes at her expense, though every now and then she would surprise everyone with the perfect comeback. She loved the holidays and was always the one who brought everyone together, planning celebrations months in advance, preparing far more food than anyone could possibly eat, and making sure every detail was taken care of. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She delighted in buying gifts months ahead of time, although she often found it impossible to keep her surprises a secret. 

As a speech-language pathologist with the Bellingham Public Schools for 29 years, Christine found tremendous fulfillment in helping children gain the skills and confidence they needed to thrive. The moments she treasured most were the breakthroughs—a child speaking with new confidence or an unexpected hug that reminded her she had earned their trust. Those moments made every hour of preparation worthwhile and reflected the care she brought to her work each day.  

Christine earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Rhode Island before continuing on to receive her master's degree in speech-language pathology at Worcester State College. While pursuing her graduate studies, she balanced the demands of raising two young children, often studying late into the night with one of them sitting on her lap. Her determination and perseverance became an example to her family of the value she placed on education and hard work. 

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Janine L. (Cadoret) Dubois and William E. Dubois Sr., and her brother, William E. Dubois Jr. She is survived by her husband, Rodney C. Gramolini; her son, Jeffrey Gramolini; her daughter, Julie (Gregory) Williams; her grandchildren, Ava Williams and Zachary Gramolini; and her brother, Jacques Dubois (JoAnn).
