Constance R. Fortier

Lincoln - Constance R. (Lemay) Fortier, 90, was peacefully called home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Holiday Retirement Home with her loving family by her side. 
She was born in Central Falls where she met the love of her life, the late Leo O. Fortier, with whom she was happily married for 60 years.

She was the daughter of the late Adrienne (Bessette) Lemay and Samuel Lemay. 

Connie’s smile could light up any room, and her love filled the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of love and caretaking of all who needed help will live on through all of us. She was a homemaker, and loved reading her Bible, church attendance, bowling, tennis, card games and especially helping others. She enjoyed 25 wonderful years in Largo Florida with her husband Leo, enjoying cruises and a variety of retirement activities including joining the Red Hat Society and the New England Club. 

She was the devoted mother of six children, Diane Budrys and her husband Robert of Smithfield, Leo Fortier and his wife Deborah of Smithfield, John Fortier and his wife Laurie of Westerly, David Fortier and his wife Lisa of Scituate, James Fortier and Nina Hayes of Lincoln, and Michele Gallagher and her partner Donald Dumay of Pawtucket. She adored her fourteen grandchildren, Jessica, Julie, Shannon, Lauren, Brittney, John, Alexandra, Jaime, Rachel, Christopher, Cassidy, Kaia, Lia, and Steven and seven great-grandchildren, Evelyn, John, Theadora, Samuel, Micah, Maela, and Eleanor. She is survived by her sister, Jeannine Loiselle and brother, Roland Lemay, both of Maine.

She was pre-deceased by her sister, Simone Lemay and brother, Alfred Lemay.

A private family Committal service will be held at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery 301 South County Trail Exeter, RI 02822. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering this Spring open to all who wish to join in honoring the wonderful life of our dearly beloved Connie.
