Cornelia B. Scurry

Woonsocket — Cornelia Scurry 48, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in the Woonsocket Health Center with her family by her side.

Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Melvin and Susan (Harmon) Scurry.

She was a member of St. James Baptist Church, she enjoyed being with family and friends. Cornelia enjoyed cooking, braiding hair and writing poetry. She was a very caring individual with sense of love that would shine upon everyone she meet.

She is survived by her siblings Ruby Godette, her sister mom Evelyn Terry and her husband Robert, Dolores Scurry, Carol Garrette all of Woon., James Scurry and his wife Tanya of Ma. Susan Dubois of Cumberland, Jennifer Terry and her husband Tony of Prov. Rose Clark and her husband Tony of Woon., Jeffrey Scurry and his wife Paula of Burrillville. Her step siblings, Louis Caro and his wife Soccoro of Puerto Rico,  Onellia Nellie Gray and her husband Thomas of Woon. and Emma Caro and her husband Titio of Woon. Raphael Caro and his wife Emma of Woon., Louis Lopez Jr and his Ivette of Woon. Two godchildren Jeremiah Hardesty and Dshun Hardesty Jr. Two very close friends Michelle and Ashley and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was also predeceased by her brothers Melvin and Tommie Scurry and step brother Johnny Lopez, Emilio Caro.

A Service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 1PM in St. James Baptist Church 340 South Main St. Woonsocket, RI 02895. Burial will held at a later date. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 6-8 PM in St. James Baptist Church 340 South Main St. Woonsocket, RI 02895. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895 is in charge of the arrangements.
