Friedbert F. Herb

North Smithfield - Friedbert F. Herb, 79, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 in Oakland Grove Health Care Center. He was the husband of Cecile (Negrotti) Herb of N. Smithfield. Fred and Cecile were married for 51 years. 

Born in Sandhausen, Germany., son of the late Walter and Lucia (Mattern) Herb. 

Fred was a Marble Finisher in Germany before coming to the United States and becoming a U.S. Citizen and has also worked for Imperial Tile and Marble Company on Charles Street in North Providence., RI. 

In his leisure time, Fred enjoyed following Bundesliga soccer and was a dedicated fan of the New England Patriots. 

Besides his wife Cecile, he is survived by one son, Erik F.Herb and his partner Maria Charland of N. Smithfield. One grandson, Erik Joseph Herb aka EJ. Four sisters, Ursula Robinson, Inger Veith, Brigette Whittman, and Mariana Mortilla. One brother, Hans Herb. And many nieces and nephews. 

Fred was preceded in death by his brother, Wolfgang Herb, sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Negrotti and Loucette Caouette and brother-in-law, Robert Negrotti.

Fred will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his passion for sports, and his love for his family. May he rest in peace. 

His funeral services are private. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd., Woonsocket, RI 02895 are in charge of the arrangements.
