Hans Benonisen III Obituary

Blackstone - Hans J. Benonisen III 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2021 in Milford Regional Hospital with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Sharon (Bradbury) Benonisen.

Born in Queens, NY, son of the late Jens L. and Guelda (Brownell) Benonisen.

Hans worked as a Mental Health Worker for Taunton State Hospital for several years prior to retiring.

He graduated from RI Trade School earning a degree in Mechanics.

Hans was a former member of  the Circle Laurier and was an avid bowler at Walnut Hill Bowl for the Men’s Monday Night League and for the Wednesday Mixed League.

He loved to be surrounded by family and friends, listening to music, fresh water fishing, muscle cars, especially his 72 Plymouth Road Runner which he named his Runner, and loved to work on cars.

Besides his beloved wife Sharon, he is survived by his two children, Dawn McGann and her husband Kenneth of Cumberland, RI and Johan Benonisen and his wife Amanda of Blackstone, MA. A daughter-in-law Michelle Benonisen of Woonsocket, RI. One brother, Rick Corliss of Georgia, and one sister, Sharyn Palisoul and her husband Dave of Vermont. Four grandchildren, Kassandra, Leah, Hans V, and Amara. One great grandson, Cyncere, and many nieces and nephews and many Heart children.

He was also the father of the late Hans Benonisen IV and James Houghton and brother of the late Sheila and Leah and his late grandson Johan Benonisen II.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM in the S.DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; social distancing observed, mask required. Burial will be at a later date.
