James E. Callahan Jr.

Woonsocket - James E. “Muggsy” Callahan Jr., 75, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 23, 2023 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Lorraine R. (Beaulieu) Callahan of Woonsocket. 

Born in Central Falls, son of the late James E. Callahan Sr. and Ida (Colletta) Callahan. 

James was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War.

James worked as a Baker and Delivery Driver for Dunkin Donuts for several years. He loved working on cars, especially Chevrolets, watching the Weather channel, and spending with his grandchildren and family.  

Beside his wife Lorraine he is survived by his two children, Cheri Nasfell of Pawtucket and James E. Callahan III of North Smithfield. One sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Miller and her husband Morty of Cumberland. Four grandchildren, Jayden, Kaelin, Ashton, and Julianna. 

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11 AM in the S. DiPardo Memorail Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd, Woonsocket RI 02895. Burial with Military Honors will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery 153 Curran Rd, Cumberland RI 02864. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 5-7PM.
