Woonsocket - James G. Campanelli 74, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 16, 2022 with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Juliette A. (Ayotte) Campanelli of Woonsocket.
Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Louis and Josephine (Mazarella) Campanelli.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era.
He worked in the Shipping Department for NYACOL in Ashland, MA for 15 years.
He was a member of Italian Workingmen’s Club serving as former treasurer, vice president and president.
He enjoyed bowling obtaining three perfect games and was entered in the Bowler’s Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and golfing, but what he loved the most was spending time with his grandchildren.
Besides his loving wife Julie he is survived by his three children, Katherine (Viveiros) Lachut of Woonsocket, William Gravel and his wife Sarah of Forestdale, RI., and Dina Pallazini of Warwick, RI. Two brothers, Louis Campanelli of FL and Robert Campanelli of Cumberland. Four grandchildren, Andrew, Savannah, Travis, and Austin.
He was also the grandfather to the late Devin Casserly.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11AM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI. Relatives and friends are invited; Calling hours are on Thursday from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Providence VA Medical Center 830 Chalkstone Ave. Providence, RI 02908 would be appreciated.
