James Joseph III Obituary

Blackstone - James E. Joseph III, 63, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. 

Born in Woonsocket, son of the late James E. Joseph Jr. of Illinois and Jane (Dumont) Martel of Blackstone, MA. 

He was a United States Army Veteran where he was an expert M-16 rifle marksman.  He also earned his hand grenade, driver and mechanic badge overseas as well as his army service ribbon and army achievement medal. 

James worked as Head of Maintenance at Garelick Farms in Franklin, MA for several years prior to retiring. 

He enjoyed deep sea fishing with his children, boating with his friends in Virginia, washing and detailing his cars, or as he called them, his hot rods. James enjoyed sitting on his porch, tending to his plants and spending time with family and friends. He also loved being with his dog, King and his feline friend, Shadow.  

He is survived by his daughter, Krystal King and her spouse Jonathan Chesley of Whitinsville, MA. Siblings: Paul Dupre of Woonsocket, Robin Waters and her husband Bruce of Tampa, FL., and Brian Benoit and his wife Monique of Bellingham, MA. Three grandchildren: Cayden Guyette, Savannah King, and Isabella King.  Also many nieces, nephews, many dear friends and his former sweetheart, Deborah King.   

Waiting for him in heaven is his son, Shawn King.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 6:30 PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd Woonsocket, RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are from 4-6:30 PM prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.
