Woonsocket — Javier Rivera 46, passed away unexpectedly from a drowning accident at Wenscott Reservoir near Notte Park in Lincoln, RI on Sunday, July 9, 2023.
Born in Hartford, CT. son of the late Carmelo Rivera and the late Santa Diaz.
Javier worked as a Maintenance Man for Equity for over 20 years prior to becoming disabled.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially his grandchildren. Javier loved to help everyone and make everyone happy.
He is survived by his five children, Milagros Mitchell of Woonsocket, Yahiara E. Rivera of Blackstone, Yaritza Rivera of Franklin, MA., Ilyana M. Rivera of Bellingham, and Josiah J. Rivera of Milford, MA. Five sisters, Ivelisse Marcano of Woonsocket, Marisol Rivera of Woonsocket, Margarita Rivera of Puerto Rico, Joanne Rivera of Woonsocket, and Elizabeth Rivera of Woonsocket. His step mother Nora L., Two stepbrothers, Jeremia Cruz of Milford and Noriel Cruz of TX., one stepsister, Norieli Cruz of TX.
Three grandchildren, Milangelys DeJesus, Angel Colon, and Chrisangelys Luciano. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews Jaisy I., Damaris, Elias J., Sanmaris, Luis A, Ashley M., Wilfredo, Héctor E., Héctor J., Kevin J., Elinuel J., Eliyoan, and close cousins Heriberto, Ricardo, Carmen G., Carmen J., Alberto, Beatriz among others and all his close long friends.
His Funeral Services are private the S.DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895 is in charge of the arrangements.
