Joann Allen Obituary

Woonsocket - Joann Harmon Allen, age 64, entered into her eternal peace on Friday, July 10, 2020, at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Joann, born to the late John Wesley Sanders and Vennie Harmon in Newberry, South Carolina, was the third child of eight siblings.

Joann was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. She worked several years at the former Fogarty Hospital's Billing Department in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. Joann inspired the hearts and souls of so many people with her beautiful and welcoming smile. She was a person full of life, perseverance, and lived life to the fullest. Joann loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, reading, singing, crossword puzzles, scratch tickets, and BINGO.

Joann is survived by one son: Jamiel Allen and his wife, Elizabeth, of Tucson, Arizona. Eight siblings: Thomas Ellison and his wife, Linda, of North Providence, Rhode Island; Dennis Harmon of Woonsocket; Mark Harmon of Providence; Sylvester Harmon of Providence, Rhode Island; Elizabeth Gifford of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; Lora Harmon of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; Tony Harmon of Providence, Rhode Island; and Michelle Harmon-Uche and her husband, Charles, of Providence, Rhode Island. Two grandchildren, Christian and Maxwell. And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Joann fought the good fight, finished her earthly course and God called her home for her eternal rest. May she Rest-in-Peace.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 6:15 PM in the S DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd Woonsocket, RI 02895.

Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are from 5-6:15 PM. Burial will be private.
