Woonsocket — Joe Dowdy “Whiskey Man” 74 passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his companion of 45 years Lilliane Bousquet.
Born in Chappells, So. Carolina son of the late John Dowdy Sr. and Ella (Wallace) Dowdy.
Joe worked in construction for Dura Stone for several years prior to retiring.
He was Lifetime member of the Tyra Club and a member of Amvet Post 85.
Joe enjoyed watching old westerns, listening to music, spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a very generous person good hearted person.
He is also survived by one daughter Beth Bousquet and her fiancée Brian Glassford of Woonsocket. One stepson Daniel Bousquet and his wife Carmen of Florida. One sister Betty Dowdy of Woonsocket. Three grandchildren, Maiyah, Kianna, Quasia and several nieces nephews and cousins.
He also was the brother to the late Shirley Andrews, Elizabeth Hair, John DowdyJr., George Dowdy, James Hill, Otis Hill, El Hill, Norman Hill, Robert Hill.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 6:30 PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Dimond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are from 4-6:30 PM. Burial will be private.
