Woonsocket - Joseph P. Rattie Sr., 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Lucille M. (Boudreau) Rattie of Woonsocket.
Born in Northbridge, MA., son of the late Valmore and Margaret (McKenna) Rattie.
He was a United States Army Veteran.
Joseph worked for Montrose Machine as a Machinist for several years prior to retiring. He enjoyed occasional trips to the casino, fishing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He loved the holidays and was always in charge of making the turkey. He also loved sitting in his rocker listening to oldies.
Besides his wife Lucille, he is survived by his two children, Joseph P. Rattie Jr. of Woonsocket and Lori St. Sauveur and her husband Rodney of Woonsocket. One sister, Susan Smith of Somerville, MA. Five grandchildren, Britany McDermott and her husband Mike, Tyler St. Sauveur and his wife Nikki, Jacob Rattie, Jenna Rattie, and Jillian Rattie. Three great grandchildren, Bridget McDermott, Chase Rattie and Raymond Cookinham. His stepchildren, Michael, Timothy, Eric, and Joi Sheldon. And his beloved dog, Chloé.
He was also the brother of the late Valmore Rattie Jr., Thomas Rattie and Audrey McKenzie.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 10 AM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd., Woonsocket, RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; Visitation is from 9-10 AM one prior to the Service. Burial with Military Honors will be in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery 30 South County Trail, Exeter RI 02822.
