Woonsocket - Linda M. (Gobbi) Abramek, 75, passed away peacefully Monday, November 6, 2023, in Milford Regional Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Edward T. Abramek of Woonsocket.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Arrigo “Rico” and Emily (Verni) Gobbi.
Linda worked in Human Resources at Flock Tex, Inc. in Woonsocket and also for the US Army Natick Labs.
She was a member of the Italian Workingmen’s Club Ladies Auxiliary and was the Social Director of Beach Place. She was also one of the founding members of Save Our Sports. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, with whom she shared a special bond. She loved hosting weekly family dinners and sleepovers with her grandchildren. She was a talented artist and a gifted cook. She also enjoyed traveling, visiting Disney, skiing, watching the New England Patriots, hosting parties, and spending winters in Longboat Key, FL.
Besides her husband Edward, she is survived by her three sons, Gary Abramek and his wife Jennifer of Woonsocket, Brian Abramek and his wife Mary-Ellen of Cumberland, and Gregory Abramek and his wife Tiffany of Lincoln. One sister, Emily Gobbi of Woonsocket. One nephew, Todd Gobbi of Woonsocket. Twelve grandchildren, Arielle, Sabrina, Gabrielle, Austin, Sophia, Christian, Quinlan, Liliana, James, Juliette, Fiona, and Emilia. She was also the grandmother of the late Aidan Abramek.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 10 AM in St. Anthony’s Church, 128 Greene St., Woonsocket, RI. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, 261 W. Wrentham Rd, Cumberland, RI. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours are on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 4-7 PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s memory to The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute would be appreciated.
