Lisa Wakely

Woonsocket — Lisa Wakely 59, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025 in Landmark Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Alex Scurry.

Born in Boston, MA., daughter of the late Richard Wakely and Alice (Timmerman) Sabourin of Woonsocket and stepdaughter to Daniel Sabourin of Woonsocket. 

Lisa worked as a CNA for Wyndemere Assistive Living and St. Antoine Residence for several years.

She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed cooking, going to the ocean, getting a manicure, being on Facebook and taking care of everyone that she could.

She is survived by her six children, Erica Scurry and her husband Louis Nelson of CT. Ashley Scurry of Woonsocket, Taariq Scurry of CT. Tiffany Scurry of Woonsocket, Kyle Mulvey of North Smithfield, and Elisher Hill of PA.  One sister, Jo-Ann Wakely of Woonsocket and one brother, Derek Sabourin of Woonsocket. Her mother-in-law Queen E. Dowdy of Woonsocket. A special niece whom she adored Melissa Rei of PA. Eleven grandchildren, Indiyara, Jahkyara, Jýzeyah, Dwayne, Janaysha, Jázariha, Deshaun, D’Asia, Kalianne, Kingston, and Kyrie. Three great grandchildren, Azaira, Craig, Dázire.

She was also the mother of the late Eric Wakely and sister to the late Jamie Mulvey.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 2 PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are from 1-2 PM prior to the Service. Burial in Union Cemetery is private.
