Lorraine M. Bernier

Woonsocket - Lorraine M. (Boisse) Bernier, 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2022 in Landmark Medical Center with her family by her side. She was the wife of George J. Bernier of Woonsocket. 

She was born in Woonsocket, RI, daughter of the late Donat Boisse and Claire (Noury) Boisse-Pierce. 

Lorraine was a talented, self-employed hair stylist and also worked as a waitress in several restaurants in Woonsocket. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She reveled in live music, dancing, eating out, and socializing with friends. She also enjoyed occasionally trying her luck at Keno – a diversion that paid out more in memories than money. 

In addition to her husband George, she is survived by her four children: Kimberly Dowding of N. Smithfield, Lisa Budda of CA, James Switzer of NV, and Ashlee Leboeuf of Woonsocket. Two sisters: Rita Houle of Cumberland and Delores Tripodi of Woonsocket. Four brothers: Raymond Boisse of Burrillville, Gerard Boisse of CA, Paul Boisse of N. Smithfield, and Ronald Boisse of Woonsocket. Seven grandchildren: Lela, Ella, Eliana, Mirabelle, Brady, Mireya, and May. And several nieces and nephews. 

She was also the sister of the late Susan Staniteiski. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home at 1583 Diamond Hill Rd Woonsocket, RI, is in charge of the arrangements.
