Woonsocket - Lorraine A. Doura, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Friendly Home.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late James and Mahassen (Haddad) Doura.
Lorraine worked in administration for Drapers Corporation for 20 years and later for CVS Headquarters for 20 years prior to her retirement. She was a graduate of Woonsocket high school, class of 1949.
She enjoyed watching the Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox and was a huge fan of James Arness in his role as Marshal Matt Dillon on her favorite television show Gunsmoke. Lorraine also enjoyed vacationing in Florida with family. Known for her sweet tooth, she especially loved her pastries from Wright’s Dairy Farm.
She is survived by her nephews, Edward Doura Jr. and his wife, Jodie, of North Smithfield; Gary Frechette and his wife, Denise, of Woonsocket; James Doura and his wife, Colette, of Burrillville; and Dennis Doura; and by her niece, Deanna Fortier and her husband, Steven, of Bellingham.
She was the sister of the late Leo Doura, George Doura, Edward Doura Sr., Dorothy Delaurier, and Violet Frechette.
Her funeral and burial will be private.
