N. Smithfield - Lorraine C. (Brunelle) Lessard, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2024 in the Friendly Home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of Eugene D. Lessard Sr. of N. Smithfield for 70 years.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Leo A. and Alice E. (Phaneuf) Brunelle. Lorraine remained a resident of Woonsocket for most of her life and raised her family there.
She worked as a Seamstress in various textile mills in Woonsocket and as a Picker for Mark Stevens/CVS for 14 years prior to retiring. She enjoyed sewing and took pride early on in her marriage in making her own clothing. After her retirement, Lorraine also found joy in babysitting for many different families who she treated as part of her own.
She enjoyed doing word searches, puzzles, and cooking for her family and friends. During the pandemic, Lorraine often made meals for her entire complex, ensuring no one had to spend the holidays alone. One of her favorite stories to tell was about the time she got to see Willie Nelson live in concert.
