Woonsocket - Lucille “Lu” S. (Lacroix) Biron, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026 in the Friendly Home with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was the wife of the late Roger Biron.
Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Donat L. and Yvonne (Coquel) Lacroix.
Lu worked for Mount St. Rita Health Centre and the former Mount St. Francis Health Center (now Trinity Health Center) as an LPN for several years prior to retirement.
She was a former member of the Red Hat Society. She was a Chaplain for the Woonsocket Elks, a Youth Minister, a Lector, and taught Religious Education for St. James Church in Manville, and was a Lector for the former Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church. She was also a volunteer at the CYO Center and the Stadium Theatre as an Usher. Lu also loved to crochet, was an avid reader and was always up for a Scrabble challenge.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Landry and her husband Ronald of Uxbridge, MA. One sister, Diane Berthiaume and her husband Romeo of Uxbridge, MA. Grandchildren, Timothy Arnold and Garrett Arnold. Great grandchildren, Kyle, Bryan, Garrett Jr., and Benjamin. And one great-great grandchild, Hazel. She was also survived by her nieces and nephews and many friends who she referred to as family.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11AM from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895 with a Mass of Christian at 12 noon in St. James Church 33 Division St, Manville, RI 02838. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery Wrentham Rd Cumberland RI. Relatives and friends are invited; visitation is from 10-11AM.
