Martha R. Lataille

Woonsocket — Martha R. (Whitfield) Lataille 84, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 1, 2021 in the Friendly Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Roger L. Lataille of Woonsocket.

Born in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, daughter of the late John and Mamie (Griffin) Whitfield.

Martha worked as a waitress for 24 years in various restaurants in the area and also for CVS Warehouse for 18 years prior to retiring.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and especially family gatherings.

Besides her husband Roger, she is survived by one daughter, Denise A. Read of Woonsocket. Two granddaughters, Brittany Lee Roia of Riverside, RI and Jillian Raye Calore of Woonsocket, RI. One brother, Jack Whitfield, of Kentucky. Four great-grandchildren, Amelia, Arabella, Jaime, and Luc.

She was also the sister of the late James, Michael, and Roger Whitfield, Joyce Flowers, Patricia Smith, and Janice Gross.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 10 AM in St. Charles Church, North Main St. Woonsocket, RI 02895.  Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are on Wednesday evening, August 4, 2021 from 4-7 PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket RI 02895. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery and will be private.
