Cumberland - MaryAnn (Binette) Jolicoeur, 75, passed away unexpectedly in her home on May 16th, having just enjoyed her morning coffee, cigarette and daily game of WORDLE. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Jolicoeur, the love of her life, to whom she was married to for 37 years. She was born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Omer and Mary (Pasichny) Binette of Blackstone.
MaryAnn served as the Public Housing Manager for the Woonsocket Housing Authority for 36 years before retiring in 2017. She is noted to be first female to hold the position of Housing Manager in the State of Rhode Island – a distinction she was very proud of. She was known as tough, but fair, as she fought for the betterment of her tenants and their community.
Mom loved bird watching, frozen margaritas on a hot day, playing WORDLE, stopping by unannounced for a coffee, luncheons with friends, Woonsocket politics, gardening, smoking, neighborhood gossip, Caryn’s spaghetti and meatballs and sending lovely handwritten cards for every and any occasion – complete with her beautiful and unmistakable penmanship.
Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her five children, Curtis Jolicoeur, her favorite, and his wife Jennifer of N. Smithfield, Robyn Jolicoeur, her favorite, and her fiancé Thomas Lepore of Cumberland, Craig Jolicoeur, her favorite, and his wife Erin of Cumberland, Caryn Beaudoin, her favorite, of Blackstone, and Kristen Charron, her favorite, and her husband Eric of Blackstone. Her 12 grandchildren, Maddison, Miles, Claudia, Rain, Hannah, Gabriel, Kyle, Maya, Savana, Brooke, Payton, and Lincoln. She is also survived by her sister, Constance (Richard) Bousquet of Blackstone. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Irene (Frederick) Hartnett of Woonsocket.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 7PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are from 4-7PM prior to the service. Burial will be private.
