Matthew Dorogi passed away from hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease at 58. Matt graduated with his Ph.D. and M.S. in physics from Purdue University. At Purdue, he did doctoral research in experimental solid state physics. His graduate work was right after his undergraduate in math and physics from SUNY Fredonia, where he also played on the tennis team. Matt’s biggest joys were his daughters, Natalia and Kaya, and his wife, Irina. He started the tradition of cooking on Sundays when the daughters were small and once he and his wife were empty nesters, he still continued the tradition.
Born in western New York, the son of late Dennis and Ruth, sibling of Mark (Kathy), Andrew (late Flo), Mike (DeAnn), and Sara. Favorite things as a child were fishing and his pet Evets.
Matt’s current family pets, Wachusett and Francis, along with Alma, and previously Bella and Francis, brought lots of joy.
Matt started his career in the semiconductor equipment industry and he was in the solar industry in the most recent years and also other renewable energy too. Matt loved cheering his daughters at their athletic events and was very proud of all they accomplished. Biggest highlight as a family was when both daughters qualified and competed at USCSA Collegiate Nationals in Alpine Skiing. Matt is always in our hearts.
His Service has occurred.
