Michael H. Poirier

Florida - Michael H. Poirier, 74, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022.  Mike was a lifelong resident of Blackstone until he moved to Palm Coast, Florida in 2016.

Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Daniel and Celia (LaCroix) Poirier.

Michael was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran.  He was very involved in helping veterans and others with addition and disabilities find the help they needed.

Mike worked for many years as a manager at ITT Grinnell and later worked as a security guard for the Power Station in Bellingham Mass prior to retiring.

He was a supportive father, grandfather and friend. He adored his grandchildren who knew him as Pepere. He was a very funny person with a unique personality and humor that always made people laugh.

He is survived by his children; Dawn Gambardella of Blackstone, Cindy Carlson of North Smithfield, and Michael Poirier of Palm Coast FL.  Four brothers; Danny, David, Philip Poirier, and half brother, Joseph Poirier. One half sister, Danielle Lawrence. And seven grandchildren; Jacob, Mitchel, Madison, Gavin, Michael, Angelina, and Marshall.

Mike was laid to rest at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA in a private ceremony with Military Honors.
