Nancy E. Zagaglia
Blackstone - Nancy E. (Cabana) Zagaglia, 70, peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loving and devoted children, on Thursday, November 7, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Mark S. Zagaglia Sr., with whom she shared 33 beautiful years of marriage.
Born in Milford, MA, Nancy was the cherished daughter of the late Henry E. and Eileen (Logan) Cabana. She pursued her education at Newbury College and Boston University, earning degrees that propelled her to a distinguished career as a Court Magistrate for the Uxbridge District Court, where she served for 42 years before retiring in 2017.
Nancy was a devout member of St. Augustine’s Church in Millville, MA, where she served as a eucharistic minister. She continued her faith journey as a dedicated member of Divine Mercy Parish in Blackstone, MA. Nancy was a wonderful mother, tireless caregiver, and an exceptional cook who kept a beautiful home. She found joy in gardening, music, landscaping, and the heartfelt narratives of her Hallmark Christmas movies. Above all, Nancy treasured the time spent with her family and friends, her faithful canine companion, Finley, and especially her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children: Mark Zagaglia Jr. and his wife Andrea of Bellingham, MA; Ryan Zagaglia and his wife Anne-Marie of Blackstone, MA; Jennifer (Zagaglia) and her husband Jay Desautels of Douglas, MA. Nancy was the proud "Nana" of seven grandchildren: Abigail, Logan, Nolan, Oliver, Mark III, Cameron, and Hudson, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her siblings: Thomas Cabana of Woonsocket, RI; Patricia Robbins and her husband James of Marlborough, MA; Kathryn Sweeney and her husband Michael of Blackstone, MA; and Kevin Cabana and his wife Ann-Marie of Greensboro, NC, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to extend its sincerest gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at the Friendly Home and all members of Continuum Hospice, who treated Nancy with love and provided her with exceptional care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 5-7 PM, and a funeral will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 9 AM from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd, Woonsocket, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in Divine Mercy Church, St. Paul St, Blackstone, MA, and burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St, Blackstone, MA. sdipardomcfh.com
