Norman Roy Obituary

Harrisville — Norman J. Roy 78, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022 in Landmark Medical Center with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Shirley (Jenckes) Roy.

Born in Pawtucket, son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Bouley) Roy. 

He worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for Polytop for several years prior to retiring. He also worked for Owen’s Corning Fiberglass for many years.

Norman was a veteran of the United States Marines. Where he was an aircraft mechanic.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping gardening, playing powerball and spending time with family and friends. Many who either called him Norm or Grandpa! He was also an avid New England sports fan.

He is survived by his two children, Robert Roy and his wife Nicole of Scotland, Ct. and Christine Roy of Harrisville, RI. His Granddaughter that he raised, Holly Rapko of Mapleville, RI. Step-daughter Barbara Rapko of Providence. One sister Patricia Hall of Carver Ma. 5 other grandchildren and a great Grandson. 

He also was the brother of the late Joseph Roy,Teresa Dube, and Doris Smith.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11 AM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895. Burial will be in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery Bellingham, MA.  Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 4-6 PM.
