Normand Chevalier Obituary

Woonsocket - Normand “Chevy” Chevalier, 72,  passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 in the Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Centre after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Pauline (Parenteau) Chevalier. Normand and Pauline celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on March 10, 2024. 

Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Lucien and Solange (Cuquel) Chevalier. 

He is a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam era. 

Normand worked as a Truck Driver for McLaughlin & Moran for 23 years. He was a lifetime member of Club Lafayette and a recent member of the Italian Workingmen’s Club. He played quoits for Club Lafayette, he enjoyed bowling, golf, golf, and more golf. 

Besides his wife Pauline, he is survived by one daughter, Kim Caron and her husband Timothy of Westerly. One brother, Robert “Smokey” Chevalier of Woonsocket. One sister, Lorraine Labonte of FL. Three grandchildren, Paige, Jake, and Luke. He was the uncle of several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He held a special place in his heart for his great niece, Alexia Epps. He also leaves behind his canine companion, Bandit. 

He was also the brother of the late Denise Sabo.

A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11 AM in Resurrection Cemetery Cumberland, RI. Relatives and friends are invited. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd Woonsocket RI 02895 is in charge of the arrangements.
