Paul Chauvin Obituary

Woonsocket - Paul E. Chauvin, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted companion of Jane Goff of Woonsocket. He was also the former husband of Suzanne (Tessier) Rondeau of Woonsocket. 

Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Jean and Eva (Remy) Chauvin. 

Paul was a United States Marine Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. 

He worked in the Submarine Sonar Division for Raytheon in Portsmouth, MA for 15 years and also as an X-ray Technician for Electric Boat for 12 years prior to retiring. 

He was an Alumni of the Mount St. Charles Band. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed playing the trumpet, hunting, antique cars, and gardening, especially tending to his roses. He was an exceptional writer and writing poems was his favorite. He was also very strong in his faith and took time to volunteer and help the homeless.  

Paul is survived by his eleven children, Shem Bartlett, Shar Chauvin, Sharon Washington and her husband Greg, Sherrill Insisiengmay, Stephen Chauvin and his wife Joann, Seth Chauvin, Shiloh Chauvin and his wife Kim, Sherri Abney and her husband Eric, Solomon Chauvin and his wife Stephanie, Sarah Heredia and her husband Manuel, and Selah Luna and her husband Emilio III. One brother, George Chauvin. Forty two grandchildren and two great granddaughters. 

He was also the father of his late twins, Silas and Simon. 

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 6 PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd., Woonsocket, RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; Calling hours will be from 4-6 PM prior to the service. 

Burial will be held in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail Exeter, RI., on Monday, December 22, 2025 from the S. DiPardo MCFH at 9:30 AM.
