Phillip Dimitrie Cole

Phillip Dimitrie Cole, affectionately known as Phil, passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2024, in Woonsocket, RI at the age of 44. Born on January 25, 1980 to Patricia (Grant) Cole and the late Phillip M Cole. 

A lifelong resident of Woonsocket, born and raised, Phillip, was a loving father, and a loyal friend who made friends wherever he went. Everyone he came in contact with was his friend. He had an infectious smile and the biggest heart. He was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a hand to help family, friends and neighbors alike. He enjoyed basketball and football and was a huge New England sports fan, especially the New England Patriots. During his time working at Gillette Stadium, he would beam with excitement when re-telling the stories of the Patriots he met or even saw up close. He smiled with his whole heart and boy, could he light up a room. Those who knew and loved him will remember him as a kindhearted person always ready with a smile and a helping hand. He loved his family so very much and was so proud of them.

Phillip is survived by his loving children Avianna Cole-Ortiz Javian-Cole Ortiz; his mother Patricia (Grant) Cole; siblings Maalikat Vill (Stephen Sannicandro) of Douglas, MA, his brothers David and Dwayne Harmon of Woonsocket, and his closest cousin who was more of a brother than a cousin, Oronde Garrett (Angela Martinez) of New Jersey. He leaves to mourn him, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins and his beloved canine companion Chico. He was preceded in death by his brother Hassan Vill and his maternal grandparents Clarence and Sarah Jane (McLaminy) Grant. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 12 PM in St. James Baptist Church 340 South Main St., Woonsocket, RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; visitation at the church will be from 10AM - 12PM prior to the service. Burial will be private. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
