Phouk Chanthavong

Woonsocket - Phouk Chanthavong 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in Landmark Medical Center with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Vady Chanthavong. 

Born in Vientiane, Laos son of the late Phet and Pahn Vongsykeo. 

While living in Laos he worked as a High School Director. In Rochester, NY he worked for Cayuga Orthotics and Prosthetics for several years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, and taking care of his grandchildren. He was very caring and loving. He was a well respected man in the community. He took part in all aspects at his Temple. 

Phouk is survived by one daughter, Phou Chanthavong of Woonsocket. One son, Sourichanh Chanthavong of OK. Thirteen grandchildren. Twenty seven great-grandchildren. Five great-great-grandchildren. And several nieces and nephews. 

He was also the father of the late Sourivanh Chanthavong and Khonesavanh Chanthavong. 

A traditional Laos Service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 starting at 8 AM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd, Woonsocket, RI 02895. Followed by cremation in Woodlawn North Purchase Crematory 825 North Main St. Attleboro, MA 02703. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 4-6 PM.
