Our beloved Renee, peacefully passed thru God’s gates on December 15th. She died from complications after contracting Covid.
Her husband Don, their son Stephen and their pastor, were with her during her last hours.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Monteiro) Roberge. She was a longtime resident of Woonsocket. She graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1968. She completed college at Mt. St. Joseph and then went on to receive her teaching certificate.
She dedicated her life to teaching in the community, and to this day, many students with much high regard, still comment how she was the favorite teacher. She had a bright and cheerful attitude with the children she taught. It would be no surprise to see Mrs. Eddie in full pilgrim costume at Thanksgiving. She found creative ways to keep her students involved. She taught 29 years (1975-2004). She was a primary caretaker for so many and dedicated her life to helping others. Her unrelenting love for her family was obvious in all she accomplished.
She married the love of her life Don S. Eddie on August 17, 1975. They were blessed with a son, Stephen Joseph.
Don’s family in Mississippi became her family too. The South was another place to call home.
Over the years, her kindness extended to family, friends as well as four legged friends too. Her open heart was genuine. It showed in everything she did. She will be missed deeply.
Renee was often in severe pain from health issues. The family would like to acknowledge her dear friend, Monique LaCroix, for helping Renee deal with her pain management and making life more manageable.
She was a member of the Blackstone Valley Baptist Church. Her faith in God made her always feel blessed. She was grateful for these 46 years she had with her family and her almost 72 years she lived.
Renee leaves behind her husband Don Eddie and their son Stephen Eddie, god children,Tina (Monteiro) Blount (FL) and Lori Matkowski (RI); her sister-in-law, Donna Bouchillon, brother-in-law Mark T. Eddie, as well as her dear relatives, Cliff and Debbie Thompson, close friends Olga Liberto and Martha Gray. Cousins Tracey Barlow (MT) and Pam Sylvestre (CA) who always considered Renee as their third sister. There are many more aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends that will miss her dearly.
She will meet her parents, Joseph and Alice (Monteiro) Roberge, Don’s parents Donald and Evelyn Eddie, her special aunt Gloria (Roberge) Coderre, and her stepfather Bob Picard at heavens gates.
We love you Renee, and we will always have you with us in our hearts.
