Richard J Forte

Woonsocket — Richard J. Forte 72, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 in Rhode Island Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Vincent A. Forte Sr. and Mary (Marinozzi) Forte.

Richard worked for American Touristor for several years, the City of Woonsocket in City Hall Maintaining the elevator and also for the Woonsocket Highway Dept. 

He was a member of the Italian Workingmen’s Club and the Cercle Laurier. 

Richard enjoyed traveling, playing Keno, and spending time with family and friends. He was a very personable and kind hearted man who enjoyed interacting with all. He was also an animal lover.

He is survived by one brother, Vincent A. Forte Jr. of Bellingham, MA. Three nieces, Kristina Forte of Pascoag, RI., Sabrina Forte of New York, Angela O’Neil and her husband Brian of MA. One nephew, Vincent Forte III and his wife Brandi of North Carolina. Six grand nieces and nephews Matthew Forte, Stephanie Coldwell, Alex Mosher, Carlie Forte, Vincent Forte, and Grayson O’Neil. He also leaves one aunt Suzanne Forte of New Hampshire and several cousins. 

Richard was a lifelong companion of twenty years to Suzanne Barrette of Blackstone and her children Denise Rowan, David, Dianne, Glenn Barrette, and their families.

His Funeral will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church 1200 Mendon Rd. Woonsocket, RI. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery Blackstone, MA. Relatives and friends invited; calling hours will be on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 4-7 PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond HILL Rd, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
