Florida — Richard L. Perron, 76, passed away at home in Brooksville, Florida on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Leon and Marion (Bandilla) Perron. Richard lived in Woonsocket and North Smithfield before residing in Florida.
Richard was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era.
Richard worked two jobs as a plumber along with his father for Leon Perron and Son Plumbing and Heating Services. Electric Boat from 1977 to 1984 as a pipe fitter. Then he worked as a full time plumber from 1984 - 1994 before getting a job for the Woonsocket Water Department, from which he retired in 2008.
He was an avid golfer and he also loved to bowl. He was in many leagues for both sports in RI and Florida. A New England Sports fan Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox. He managed youth baseball teams in Woonsocket for 15 years, farm teams, little league, and pony. He also managed All Star Championship Teams. Richard played trumpet in his earlier years mostly for weddings and other functions throughout RI.
He is survived by one son, Lee Perron of North Smithfield. Three sisters, Debra Mottola and her husband Gary of FL., Diane Lafond and her husband Robert of North Smithfield, and Janice Perron of FL. One granddaughter, Olivia Perron of Providence and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Home Service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 7 PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are from 4-7 PM prior to the service.
His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 10AM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895 followed by Burial with Military Honors in Resurrection Cemetery Cumberland, RI 02864.
