Robert W. Evans

Woonsocket - Robert Willie Evans, 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 in the Woonsocket Health Centre. He was the husband of the late Rachel (Sylvestre) Evans.

Born in Thomson, GA., he was the son of the late Hosie and Lucy Mae (Harmon) Evans.

As a young man, Rob enlisted in the Navy and later worked as an Environmentalist for the Woonsocket Treatment Plant for several years prior to retiring.

Rob was an avid Red Sox fan and dog lover. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His infectious laughter and the stories he shared will be fondly remembered.

He leaves to mourn his two children, Robert H. Evans of Lake Elsinore, CA and Keisha M. Browner and her husband Donald of Bristol, RI.; four siblings, Hosie Evans, Bernice L. Jessie, Gregory E. Evans, and Cynthia A. Evans all of Woonsocket; two grandchildren, Robert Evans and Luke Browner of Newport, RI.; two great-grandchildren, Quintin Browner and Kylo Browner of Newport, RI. and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rob was predeceased by his siblings, James E. Evans, Lenda P. Killingham and Marie R. Evans.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 10:30 AM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895. Burial to follow in Union Cemetery Smithfield Rd N. Smithfield, RI. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation is from 9-10:30 AM prior to the service.
