Woonsocket - Roger J. Durand, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13, 2023 in the Oakland Grove Health Care Center with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Cecile (St. Pierre) Durand.  

Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Domina and Ida (Provost) Durand. 

Roger was a Printing Supervisor at Dennison for several years prior to retiring. He was also a Custodian for the condos he lived at in Florida for a few years.  

He was a member of St. Josephs Seniors and a Civil Defense Officer for the Auxiliary Police. He enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, and was an avid reader. 

He is survived by his three children, Diane Morris and her husband Rodney of Woonsocket, Michael Durand of Woonsocket, and James Durand and his wife Muriel of Woonsocket. Five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. 

He was also the brother of the late Raymond Durand and his wife Doris, Alice Rivard and her husband Marcel and Maurice Durand and his wife Rita. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd, Woonsocket, RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are from 3-5 PM. Burial is private. sdipardomcfh.com
