Steven Tegovich Obituary

Woonsocket - Steven Kosta Tegovich, 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Woonsocket on December 8, 2024. He was a kind, caring man who was loved and admired by all who knew him. Steven was born in Woonsocket in 1961, attended Our Lady of Victories Elementary School, Catholic Regional Jr. High School, and graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1979 where he played football and was a member of the State Championship Track Team. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1994 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Theatre. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. In his junior year, he was honorably selected to participate in the National Honors Scholarship Program at American University in Washington, D.C.

He moved to Arizona in 1983 where he attended the University of Arizona in Tucson and worked as a Private Investigator and a Salesman. His passion for the theatre led him to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a Western stuntman. He acted in over 500 live performances at Old Tucson Movie Studios and over 250 more for Double F Productions. Over the years, his talent and charisma earned him roles in commercials, television shows, and films across Arizona, Massachusetts, New York, and Rhode Island.

Steven moved back to Woonsocket  in 2001 to care for his elderly mother and uncles. While he continued his career in acting, he also worked at the Woonsocket Call as an Account Executive. During this time, he also wrote and published poetry as well as his novel entitled ‘The Fork in the Road’.

He was an excellent cook and enjoyed scuba diving, hiking, fishing, motorcycling, skiing, and other outdoor activities. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Steven is survived and deeply missed by his beloved wife Lisa, his stepdaughter Madison, his stepmother Irene and his sisters, Christina and Elaine. He was predeceased by his parents, Kosta and Ida (Steve) Tegovich.
