Susan Labrecque Obituary

Susan M. (Notarangelo) Labrecque, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital with her loving family by her side.

She was the wife of the late Michael F. Labrecque, the love of her life, to whom she was married to for 46 years. Mikey and Susie were lovers of a lifetime. She was born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Nicholas and Eclida (Thivierge) Notarangelo whom she took excellent care of in their later years.

As a teenager Sue loved her first job serving pizzas at the infamous Serio's Pizzeria. Later Sue worked as a CNA at Landmark Medical Center for 40 years before retiring to take care of her love Mikey. She made so many lifelong friends at Landmark, everyone thought she was such a spitfire and respected how she took excellent care of all her patients.

She was a former volunteer at the Burriville Animal Shelter and the North Western Humane Society. 7 days a week she would be at the shelter, sometimes even 2x a day, tirelessly trying to find homes for all the strays. She would even bring in home cooked meals to feed them, because as she would say "It wasn't their fault they were in a shelter."

Susie ,or as her family lovingly referred to as " Susie Spirit", was a fashionista. She loved wearing her bathrobes, knee high socks and slippers while watching TV. Her favorite "stories" were movies on the Lifetime and the Hallmark channel. But don't ever forget about QVC, she was one of their biggest fans. Her favorite activity was doing her word searches (in big print of course). You could find her sitting at her kitchen table munching on her favorite Lay's potato chips and drinking her black coffee (or Keystone Light) circling all her findings. And when she went out to eat, her favorite places were buffets! Though she was tiny in stature, people were amazed at how she could eat.

One word to describe her, was thoughtful. She always sent cards or called people on their birthdays, anniversaries, or just to see how they were doing. We are going to forever miss that.
Susie loved her family fiercely. Her daughter's and grandkids were the apple of her eye. There isn't anything she wouldn't do for them. She answered to many names but her most cherished were Ma, Mom, Gramma, and Mimi.

She is survived by her two loving daughters, Lisa" Lee" Labrecque of North Smithfield and Amy "Aim" Labrecque of North Smithfield. Two grandchildren, the light of her life, Xavier "X" Labrecque and Nadia " Not Not" Labrecque both of North Smithfield.

She was the oldest of three children. She's also survived by her brother, Nicholas Notarangelo Jr of Woonsocket. She was also the sister of the late Janice Roderick.

Her services are private. The S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd, Woonsocket, RI 02895 is in charge of the arrangements.  A mass in her honor will be held at St John's Evangelist Church in North Smithfield Rhode Island at a later date.
