Sylvia D. Desplechins

Woonsocket - Sylvia D. Desplechins, 87, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025 in St. Antoine Residence, shortly before sunset, with her family by her side. 

Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Fulgence and Doris (Debigare) Desplechins.  

Sylvia worked for Northern RI Mental Health for 10 years as a Medical Transcriptionist. She was known for her love of dogs, plants, the ocean, and her friends and family. You would often find Sylvia basking in the sun on her favorite chair or walking her city. Often misunderstood and unconventional, but always valued and loved by those who knew her. 

She is survived by her daughter Philomena V. Robbins of Woonsocket. She leaves behind five grandchildren, David M. Robbins and his wife Heather of Johnston, Stephanie L. Robbins and her wife Lacey of Woonsocket, Amanda J. Maculan and her husband Michael of Blackstone, Matt Morrow of Woonsocket, and Sharon Lafferiere of Woonsocket. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren and a sister, Vivian Lebrun of Florida. 

Her services are private.
