Ulersee Allen

Woonsocket - Ulersee Scurry Allen, 94 passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 in the St. Antoine Residence, following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Johnie Allen. They were married for 64 years at the time of his death in 2011.

Born in Newberry, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Willie Scurry and the late Mrs.Caroline Hailstock Scurry.

Ulersee always had a kind and gentle spirit. She was devoted to her spouse and loved spending time with family and friends. She was an avid sewer and loved to cook for her family.   

Ula was employed at the U.S. Rubber Company for 23 years. She also worked for Woonsocket Dress Co., Royal Robes, Woonsocket Coat Co. and Omnisport until retiring. She joined St. James Baptist Church after moving to Rhode Island and was an active member serving on the Young Women’s Progressive Club, Womens Day Committee, and served as past  church treasurer. She was a faithful member until her death. She served the Lord and was committed to serving God.

Left to cherish the memories of Ulersee are her two daughters, Linda Farrow and Patricia Allen; one daughter-in-law, Carol (Wilson) Allen. Grandchildren, Wesley Jamiel Allen, Ambrea M. Allen, Rashad Wilson, and Somer Wilson. Granddaughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Escobedo) Allen. One grandson-in-law, Quinn Gray. Two great grandsons, Christian J. Allen and Maxwell B. Allen. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Clemon Wesley Allen, three sisters; Josephine Scurry, Mary Hill, and Annie Lou Costa. Four brothers; Willie Jr., ML, Clarence, and Harmon Scurry. Son-in-law Howard Farrow and granddaughter, Erica Lynn Farrow Gray.

Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11 AM in St. James Baptist Church 340 South Main St. Woonsocket, RI 02895. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery North Smithfield, RI. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 4-7 PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, RI 02895.
