William Motte Obituary

Woonsocket - William J. Motte, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025 in Tufts Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born in Providence, son of the late Conrad Motte Jr. and Sophie (Polacek) Motte.

William worked as a forklift operator for Mark Stevens for 35 years prior to retiring.

He was an associate member of the Italian Working Men’s Club. Bill enjoyed playing several sports that included baseball, basketball, football, and golf. He excelled in all of them. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved to watch his grandson and great nephew play sports. He was their biggest fan.

He is survived by his two children, Carrie Kenney and her husband Daniel of Burrillville and Keith Motte of Woonsocket. Two sisters, Maureen Berard and her husband Marcel of Cumberland and Debra Motte of Lincoln. Sister-in-law, Evelyn Motte of Cumberland. One grandchild, Tyler Kenney. One great nephew, Jack Allen. And many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Gerald Motte.

His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 9AM from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd, Woonsocket, RI 02895 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Aidan & Sty. Patrick's Church 1460 Diamond Hill Road Cumberland, RI. 02864. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery Blackstone, MA. Relatives and friends are invited; Calling hours are on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 5-7 PM.
